We have decided that Free just disagrees with the text books right from mating day to the mating to the birth. She shocked us by having them 6 days early, and Matt also shocked me by being the best Mid husband ever.

Free has four lovely pups, all fairly classic and nicely marked. She has two girls and two boys and I am pretty certain that three out of the four are staying with some FANTASTIC Devon Dogs Clients so I am over the moon.

Below is Reef, Free and our last bunch of puppy cuddles and visitors last year :) We do love having our puppies.

I will really need some newspaper ASAP :) PLEASE help - drop it to my van anytime!

If you would like a visit for a cuddle let us know and we will let you know when and also if you are considering a future Devongem puppy we do have a second litter expected in November as we were unsure whether Free would have enough pups so please do contact us to see if you would be a suitable home for one of these gorgeous pups. We do have a list but things are always changing!

We are really looking forward to having puppies at Bowerland again. Thankyou all for your enquiries. Frees' pups are pretty much spoken for but Poppy has some flexibility in her list so feel free to enquire for this litter or Poppy x Reef will probably repeat in 18months/2 years and Free x Jacquis choice of dog next year.

Free is enjoying all of her food and extra fuss. It is really funny in the last week of pregnancy the bitches seem to have this calm look of knowldge in their eyes and seem to sleep and rest a little more. Free still wants all of her walks though and I tried to leave her in the stables yesterday whilst letting out the young dogs and guest dogs at Bowerland and she was not having any of it. So normal walks it is!

I will keep you all updated on Free and Poppys progress and we should know in a week or two through scan whether Poppy is in pup.

It is great having so many people praising the Devongem pups lately and I have to say I am hearing them at every prizegiving, I am so proud.
Dont get me wrong, when you sell a puppy you know that the ownership is now gone however that does not stop you wanting them to do well and I have to say they have exceeded my expectations. Some are with experienced owners, others are with first time owners yet all are doing themselves and me very proud, I am happy for you all.

and as with all her litters we have a waiting list but even so things always change so do

Reef has also just been mated to a friends bitch, a stunning kind tempered and well balanced
tri colour birch - we are keeping everything crossed for a litter from this stunning girly, her health, temperament and type is all perfect!! Pictures will follow shortly and we will be helping home this litter - they will be border collies and have a very good pedigree!

I hope some of you start to bring some newspapers to class - we have very little so far! If you do bring any drop it by the container - thankyou all so much in advance,

We have had a positive scan for Reef x Free - I so so so so can't wait to have a pup for a very special customer or two - I am keeping everything absolutely crossed! They are due the last weekend of September so no shows for us as we will be hanging around Bowerland eagerly awaiting a new arrival or two.

I find this so exciting and if all turns out okay we hope to have another litter in a years time. I do not breed often but really to keep our line going and in the hands of great people. We hope for a bitch in this letter to go to a breed home so we can see this fantastic line continuing if health and temperament tests are good.

The Devongems have been doing oh so well :) Popi had a 3rd in the Agility Club Champ Final narrowly missing the ticket, Brooke, Riot and Tiki Dee have all gone into G5, Cove was in the DIN final, Mist was in the KCI Novice Cup, Devo is one win off G7 Mark tells me, Chilli is looking lovely and Zing has started his KC comps, and the honary Devongems spics and coast have started competing - Spice won her first SC and Coast had a 2nd and 3rd with his first two clears :) Get you guys :) I am way too proud :) I am so proud of Reef and Mrs Pops - great pups even if I do say so myself :) And handsome to boot :)

Well if this is true our nation is making progress, these Devongems have had a lovely week.

What with Shawn, Fern, Rhianna and Val these guys have it covered even when Matt and I are busy - which we have been with Greg.

It was great to get some fantastic training in, Fiji was a star and Riot looked awesome - these guys have a good future ahead of them. Tik had hurt her chin so couldn't train and so it was down to Fiji and Riot. Greg was great and had loads of feedback for them.

We are still waiting patiently for little miss Free - she has so many eager people on the list I really do hope we have puppies.

Talking of puppies here are little miss Tuesy and Fiji - gorgeous girls! Keeping both Jo and I very busy I am sure :)

What a great few weeks for the Devongems. An excellent few emails and texts and some lovely cuddles. I am sure every breeder brims with pride but I really do when I snuggle these pups. I am not saying they are the easiest but hey who wants easy......?

Devongem Dark Knight qualified for the Olympia semis today, he was always my pick of litter, a handsome pushy and exceedingly strong bc boy. And then cheeky has had trophies at the big shows and got a semi day too and moved to grade 4! Tik has grown so much as a dog and not in height for those of you that know her, I mean the more I work her the more she gives me. She wears her heart on her sleeve - she is a cutie pie.

And then Rock and Cove - these boys are the light of their owners lives - I love the regular texts, pics, and words of praise, I am over the moon with how you love them.

I snuggled with ditto too at the weekend and she had a race around with Fiji, I love this pup, a very pretty girly! And then her brother Rhyme - he has to be the most handsome boy really, well after Riot that is ;)

We had 7 new pups born this week who will possibly be registered under the our affix - we get on so well with the breeder and respect her so much, these are wsd pups and simply stunning!! There are two reds, one blue and four blacks - all tri as Molly and coast are both classic tris! These pups are all homed and I can't wait until they are old enough for me to start training :):)

Our litter will hopefully be mated soon, free is the sweetest girly so fingers crossed we get a mating :)

We try so hard to do this, in life, in love and with our puppies.

We have a lot to learn but we are open to ideas.

We have the pleasure of seeing some fab agility dogs developing. Amongst the regulars we also have some Popi, Reef, Rocky and other impressive pups at training. I love training the youngsters.

We are looking forward to the Coast x Molly pups - Coast is a wsd and Molly a BC, both are health tested and pups are all booked from this litter. Free is also coming into season - lets keep our fingers crossed, I think she could have gorgeous puppies!

The cottages are booming and we have lots of new interest everyday, thankyou all for your fantastic support.

I love this dog, I mean I am so lucky to have been allowed to have such a gorgeous pup, she is just the love of my life, Tiki is obviously still my princess and Reef the most handsome dog on the planet, Pop is a gem and Coast is the sweetest boy, Free is crazy and I love them all to bits.

But this week I have been rather busy and had to rely on a few others to help me with dogs and it just makes me realise how much I love spending time with my dogs. Fiji and I have loads we want to do but the most important thing to me right now is the 24/7 life skills - I am working on lots of Susan Garretts fantastic programme and with a gentle nudge from Lynda Orton Hill relishing every challenge and hoping I can improve my own dog training skills to become a better dog trainer and gain a better understanding of what we are looking for as dog trainers.

I have had some fantastic emails, cards, phone calls and messages over the last week - Brooke has had numerous places and at least 2 wins, Boss is looking gorgeous, Cove has moved into G2 already and Chillis's mum sent me a really lovely email saying how pleased she is with her and how clever the little chilli bean is - this is fab as she was quite a sensitive girly in the litter so I am so pleased that her nnatural aptitude for work is showing - I just love this Popi / Reef mating. They are cracking and I think their shape is far better than the first Devongem litter and are much more the 'type' I would like to be breeding.

So pleased that everyone is so happy and doing so well, keep up the fantastic work, I am so pleased you are happy guys, I certainly am.

Well the weekend has been great all round but particularly for some of the Devongem babies - they are doing so well!

It started with Dare coming to stay at Bowerland for a holiday and some training. Reef and her played so nicely :)

Then we moved over to the show and Tiki doing her first ever kc run, in a class of 200 she was 5th behind two of my customers :):) Tiki really looked like she knew her job, I was dead proud of her, she then had 3 runs of 5 faults and another clear and 6th in a class of 200 again. I know she is a very small bc and only just measures large but I am going to try my hardest to get the best out of her as she is desperately trying to get the best out of me - more running lessons me thinks!

Then Riot - he is a different kettle of fish, powerful and very strong minded - his weaves and contacts are looking fantastic - he just needs some more self control! He did compete last year and has definately gone up a gear! He is a gorgeous build and I am very tempted to put him to free later this year.

Then cove :):) fern has chatted to me about struggling with him but this weekend he decided it was all ok - he had 1st, 2 x 2nds, and lots of other places - brilliant brilliant !! Well done fern and cove you guys have a lovely relationship.

Then Brooke - I didn't see her work but LInda is a lovely owner for her and I am sure they will do well. I did snuggle her in Lindas van though - cute!

I did manage to also see bandit, chilli, zing and a few others around the rings. It really is funny to see them all - I can't wait to have our next litter, we have some amazing homes lined up, some really lovely people and all customers !

I also saw ali& niks Jack, mickey and a few others. I have to say I am not a White factor fan but Mick is just lovely. And Jack is a gorgeous shape and very worky. I also saw 5 from Clover x Reef! 5 is officially mental but then sam and Tom seem to make all of their dogs crazy, she is so funny and very very playful but sam was working really hard on other games too. And then the baby devongems - ditto, dare and rock - I do have to say they are all gorgeous and really playful, I saw all three around the rings tugging like troopers and focusing beautifully, all three looked stunning. I can't wait to see RHyme too - Dave MUnnings says he is stunning!

Lastly I saw boss - he has to be the dog that reminds me most of reef - scopey and big, reef has really come out in this litter and the stride length is phenomenal - I think dave will do brilliantly with him.

Lastly Fiji La and her sisters :) I LOVE MY PUPPY :):) and all of her litter - gorgeous :) I will add more pictures asap - they are on my FB pages :)

Waking up at 6am and being cheery is definately a great assessment of how happy you are :) I have been getting up at the crack of dawn for what seems eternity now - when will the lie in come?

Training is going really well, we have some great dogs and handlers at the moment and it is FABULOUS watching their partnerships develop. I love how everyone of them is different yet all are working and achieveing their goals - take Vivienne, her dogs do running contacts, have brilliant work ethic but wont tug. Alexis on the other hand, her dog has good tug, stop contacts and again a brilliant work ethic and then there is Gary, stop contacts, great tug, lovely work ethic and a newer handler - all are achieving so much and have already been out there doing well this year. It is such a pleasure to be part of all of these relationships. I love the creative ideas we are developing and enjoy the challenge of their differences - I mean how else can you handle your dog from a distance eh Jan?

This weekend we have our first shows of the year, we are lucky enough not to be camping as we live so close and it means the other dogs can stay at home with their fantastic fairy godmother :)

New Wednesday evening workshops are just coming out - make sure you look at these. They are almost full and have only been out for a few days :)

The weirdest thing is that these two pups were always destined to stay, and I can't wait to work them both this year. Matt and Riot won 3 jumpings last year and Tik ran two classes at UKA and both dogs did really well so it will be interesting to see how they get on in competition however for now we are really enjoying training them. We havent really entered and camping shows together until after Easter so we shall look forward to those :)

On a note from Susie Gs blog today I am greatful for a great life, brilliant opportunities and fantastic friends and family :) As well as gorgeous dogs - I can't wait to snuggle.....

Today Reefs foreign puppies arrived - 8 pups to the gorgeous Elaine :)

I will get some more photos asap but they are all classic pups - a really gorgeous litter and I am very excited to see how they turn out. I cant wait - it was a real honour to have such a talented bitch come to the UK to use Reef at stud :)

And Fiji - I cant wait to do some more work with the newest member of the Devongem family - this pup is just gorgeous. I am currently teaching in Canada but cannot wait to see her again ......

I find this so true, with agility, life and everything else. Sometimes you need to just take it all in your stride and allow yourself a second to enjoy the proc world aness. We are all chasing a similar dream in the agility world and sometimes we are trying so hard we forget what its really about.

I have really enjoyed hearing from Jon and Rock recently as well as Dan &Ditto. They seem to have such lovely, natural fun with their pups - you guys are a pleasure. Both G2&3 handlers yet inspirational. I have also seen some great progree from Zing recently, have loads of contact with Dave with Boss and I continue to have regular contact with Brooke.

Other pups are also making great progress I hear and I personally cant wait to see some of them out and about at shows :)

Loving being a part of what some of you are up to and immensely pleased with our lucky Devongems homes.

Fiji is growing up fast :) A bundle of fun :) she is possibly the most gorgeous creature on the planet ;);)

I am in love with this pup, mainly because she is just the prettiest thing alive (I AM NOT BIASED) and she has fitted in really nicely except for her cat fettish - the cats think she is hilarious, she thinks the cats are sheep!

The other Devongems are working hard at the moment and Spring is in the air and I have to say everyone is feeling rather positive. The Devongem HQ are really coming together.

On another note we are having Susan Garrett coming to stay - oh we have our work cut out here, it is a hive of activity and we are constantly trying to improve Bowerland.

I am definately proud of the pups progress :) It is lovely having litters with some great owners who love their pups and the best bit has to be the pleasure of training some of these guys :) I honestly love that bit. Above is Brooke and below is Rock. Fern was at Stretcholt with Cove too and I have also seen Rhyme at Bowerland and Newhall and Ditto too - Dan is hoping to bring her to Bowerland too sometime to work on play and motivation - NOT that she needs it she is MAD! She is definately the most confident pup I have bred! Zing is now weaving and Devo was down last week looking very grown up - Mark is aiming high this year.

What a fun week :) The Devongem dogs have had lots of training, Coast has been to two new venues and the pup is out and about - great excuse for the pub! She has also decided that she does not officially require any fluffy doorstops in the house, in fact she will deal with them - no questions asked!

She is 7 weeks and full of it, I really hope she stays that way.

With regards to work/training and the balance we are just about managing the juggling act but there is a lot going on. We have so many up and coming workshops etc but the one I am most excited about is the Greg Derrett seminar - please try to come to this. It should be fantastic!

The Devongem dogs had a great day today walking with Gemma Hanekoms dogs, Jo Richardson and her dogs, Neil and Jules and a lot of mud! It is great to be able to take time out and enjoy living here. It is also a fantastic way to end a training day!

Lastly more socialising - we are off to the pub - again, not Fiji but us adults - great fun :)

Some dogs really wear their hearts on their sleeves, I am not revealing who, how and when however it is noticable. What a credit to those dogs and thier owners, gorgeous.

An exciting time here at the Devongem Kennel - Fiji is coming home. I am really excited about having a gorgeous pup, I really can't believe I am allowed to have her, I loved her at two days old, she was the one, that pulled my heart strings, a very exciting prospect - I have always wanted a perfectly marked BC with an easy going way - lets hope she is as she seems - I am sure she will be.

The Devongem dogs have had a great few weeks, Dave Munnings Boss and Sandra Adams Robbie have been staying at Bowerland. Lots of border collies and soon to arrive Fiji (see Lauren Langman training blog) in the Bowerland fields and Woodlands - oh what fun!

I feel sad we will not be having Spring pups BUT on the plus side we can concentrate on our youngsters who are all training up to compete this year, we are investing a lot of time in our fantastic customers and young dogs right now - great fun! I am also amazed that all of the people on Frees list want to stay put - they all want a free puppy - lovely :)

Reefs pups are looking great - Mandy's 8 pups look like they will be a real handful - bust already and Gemmas pups are JUST WOW! I cant wait to have cuddles.

The Devongem Household (DAN SHAW - aka Pack hahaha) Update

Free has been away visiting Mojo, unfortunately we did not have a mating, Mojo quite fancied Free and she was very good and stood but the important bit did not quite happen. We will look to try again with Free next season, we have not yet discussed with Mojo or a new dog, I will need to talk to Frees very knowledgable breeder Jacqui Barron - Laetare Border collies, above is Free with Kite, Mojo and Toots. I do have to say Mojo is just gorgeous.

On another note Reef x Chase pups have been born, I will be stealing pics from Mandy asap. Reef has also been to a gorgeous Austrian bitch, I loved her, he loved her and I cant wait to see what the pups turn out like. I have everththing crossed - what a privilege, two great people travelling to us from Austria and Germany all the way down to visit us at Bowerland for Reef - It was an honour to have Pascale an Austrian vet along with her lovely friend who is hoping to have a puppy. I also had great fun training them although it was possibly the busiest week of my life.

I LOVE our dogs, I love what we do and I LOVE the new pups :)

Congrats to little Hoax who had her pups early - it was sad she lost the little boy pup but the three girl pups are stunning.

She has one Popi type dark girly, one Reef type girly and one GORGEOUSLY marked merlie girly. I cant wait to meet them.

On another note I have been looking at a friends pups when I have been up to stay - awwwwww - GORGEOUS - Reef, Coast and Tiki have been up with me and it has been lovely to take some time out and enjoy a good friends company and NO I am not tempted AT ALL by the little boy pup I am holding :)

What always suprises me is how quick people are to shoot you down rather than to praise you, but hey I understand that they all come around in the end, and the best part is I have become much more patient and have learnt to watch and wait, not all of the time, but better than before.

When I said Spice was the first red devongem quite a few people questionned me as to why? People not understanding why I suppose. Sian has been a fantastic young handler to teach, inspirational in her own way and patient. She is hard working and puts in the relationship training that is necessary to work a dog at top level. I am really hopeful for these two and for these reasons after Sian didnt get a puppy out of our Devongem litter as they were all spoken for, it seemed only just that we still had a Devongem. Spice is DASH OF SPICE AT DEVONGEM and is registered in Sians name so that she can compete with her in Grade 1 this season.

Another lovely team is Fern and Cove, Cove is a Devongem and he really does have a gorgeous relationship with Fern. I remember her looking at him as a tiny pup with the biggest grin on her face, they both obviously adore each other.

Lastly another inspirational team right now is Jan and Toby - boy you two could be fab :)

I dont know what has happened lately but I cannot seem to tear myself away from Bowerland and life at the mo, I certainly agree with Shakespeare,

I have had the pleasure of 7 Devongems in the last few weeks and I have to say it is lovely to see them so happy, 121s, bridle walks and puppy play. That is not even counting the Reef puppies - I have a 121 with Karens Spy this am, we are very lucky.

Feel like a very proud breeder this week - I have had so much lovely feedback about our Devongems - and honest too! Below is Ditto -

Ditto was a really confident, pushy little puppy - just the sort I like. I really loved her attitude and type and I think it really shows in this video - good job DAN :)

Dave Munnings and I were speaking in the week and I love how responsible he is, we were chatting re breeding and discussed endorsements etc and I really like the fact that he is really positive about endorsing and only breeding from the best BCs, not just any BC. We discussed these pups, some have certainly been more confident than others and for me the confident mothers certainly have a good chance of passing this on to their offspring, whether through nature or nurture. I also like the fact that Dave, like myself agreed re not breeding from the wrong types, this breed is just too fantastic to ruin. I love my BCs but can certainly see why certain types may not be suitable for breed. Health tests are also a must and the overall aim is to produce the best possible pup for the loveliest owners - Frees list is just fantastic - I cant wait.

Saying that I have had a lovely week of thankyous - these Popi x Reef pups certainly seem to be charming their owners as they cant seem to thank me enough - crazy. I am proud of all of the pups but this last litter, probably because we are at Bowerlands, have to be the most exuberanyt! Eh Deb?

Lastly the first Devongem litter are out and about - we have one at G6, she has also been to Olympia at just two and tried out for WAO! Below is Devongem Dark Knight, he is Matts BC and we are so glad that we kept him!

What a lovely year 2010 has been and roll on a new 2011. Puppies, Bowerlands, G7 status and more in 2010 so 2011 has a lot to live up to. Here is to having fun, no regrets, lovely customers, more lovely Devongems and some lovely Reef pups as both of Reefs new girlfriends are now in pup and confirmed so we have some Smoketrail and Dreamchart puppies on the way! What gorgeous affixes - and we are oping for a pup or two in Devon :)

I will leave you with an Oct/Nov training session video as it reminds us of the sunshine which we will hopefully see again in the not too distant future - it is only a short clip of Reef waiting his turn but it really makes me giggle, I remember worrying if I would ever harness my crazy squealing boy in the agility areas and I now look at him, off lead, enjoying a group session and off lead - and a daddy dog too :)

I really am so proud when I see lovely updates, pics and emails about the pups but these pics were just a little bit too special not to share. They are from http://www.thetwilighttouch.co.uk/. They are Devongem Mister Boss Man and Devongem Did it Again - a real wild child as you can see. These two are just gorgeous and I am really proud to have bred them and am over the moon with their wonderful homes - I am very lucky.

We have had a busy week - if you want to get out and train dont forget if you are close to Devon Dogs the barn at Newhall can be hired we are there alot but there are some free slots - it has been mad today and is mad again tomorrow and it is simply because we just cant train on this ground! So if you want to you are more than welcome, text or email me to arrange a time.

Snow is great for taking photos and videos - pain to train but lovely to see it hasn't stopped Linda :) I have been working with Linda via video links and on the phone and it is great - very clever!!

Here is just a fun video of Brooke and the frisbee - I love how agilie this little girl is - and great response to cue - no latency just DOWN!

From our side of things down on the farm at Bowerlands everything is fairly normal bar the fact we have to drain the pipes down every night outside, actually re-phrase that - DAD has to drain the pipes down - I know NOTHING! I have also filled my first bird feeder up - madness -what is happening to me - I feed the birds - I am like Mary Poppins! And then the bengal cat tries to catch them - oh dear.....

Above is Darleyfalls No Feer - daddy to our last two litters. He loves the snow and these apics are all taken on the local walk and our own fields that you can access from our land - heaven. Great news yesterday - Reef and Hoax are also expecting puppies - so 26th January keep an eye on FB! Right off to cook lunch now - I am learning about the rayburn - PATIENCE is the key :)

I am really lucky to be in close contact with Dave (who I am staying with over my Christmas Break) and Linda and get the privilege of working with their gorgeous pups - biased YES! I think they both look just fab for their age.

Puppy Rock is coming over for the day tomorrow and I get him for the whole day :) and the best bit he goes back at the end of the day as he is simply WILD!

Mum and Dad - Popi and Reef (Darleyfalls No Feer) are chilling in front of the fire and patting themselves on the back for a job well done - actually this is the photo that the Western Morning News were taking in the house EXCEPT they removed Pops out of it as Reef was more photogenic - CHEEK ;)

I am so pleased with the puppies new homes, all are people that want to do well yet their dogs come FIRST.

Below is Devongem Did It Again who has gone to live with Dan. This pup was stunningly pretty and has Brooke from the last litters attitude PLUS! She was just mad and I really enjoyed her. Below is a video of some of the things that Dan has been up to, just PERFECT. We have to balance social and lifeskills with health risks however I am really pleased that Dan has Ditto out and about coping with the ponies and even saying hello, meeting and greeting, clicker training, food work, sits and downs and hand touches recalling, sending to a toy with her head down low and running so fast and in such a co-ordinated way for one so young, well done Dan. She looks very happy and confident and you are doing a great job as are all of the new owners, these pups are just 7 weeks and look fab.

The last 7 weeks have been awesome. I have had a really amazing time, tiring yet amazing. The pups have been simply fantastic, I can honestly say they are a real pleasure and certainly the most talented I have had in terms of real worky little attitudes at just 7 weeks.

The last pup leaves tomorrow and I am going to be sad but feel really happy with the stunning homes they have as all are going to people I enjoy and really admire so feel very content in knowing I will see happy bouncy pups in the future.

I would have kept any of these pups - even the tris :) :) so I really wish them every luck in their new homes and know that Karen, Jon, Mel and Dan will be having great fun. Although I will be sad when the last pup leaves I know I will also feel content in knowing that their new owners are over the moon with them.

Our next litter will hopefully be Mojo x Free in Feb and these pups will be just awesome. I am really hoping for some of them to go to customers so I get to train them. However in the mean time Reef (Darleyfalls No Feer) has been to a lovely Merlie girly as well as a gorgeous Black Tri with a blue eye :) Can't wait to see if they take and what they have :) If you want to go on either of these lists please contact me through the website. We didnt keep a pup from our current litter due to a good friend of mine telling me about a planned mating. I am so grateful as this litter will be STUNNING (they must be for me not to keep a Popi x Reef) and I have just heard that our next puppy has hopefully been conceived ...... watch this space :) and keep your fingers crossed. We have everything crossed. Happy days!

The Devongem third editions are all settling into there new homes nicely. They are just the most fantastic homes and I feel so lucky that the pups are off to start their new lives with the most amazing people and all friends. I definately will continue to breed if the homes I get are as good as these - it gives me a lot of happiness seeing dogs that we have bred doing so well and making people so happy, it really makes it all worth it.

Anyway we still have little Rock, he certainly has a wild side and he is off with us to stretcholt tomorrow. he is just the craziest lil pup and I think Jon is going to have loads of fun with him.

Below is Spice at 7 weeks - I was watching earlier and thinking this pup is equally crazy. Spice is a lovely young adult dog and I am sure Rock will grow into the same.

Or is she ?? Sian really wanted a pup from our last Devongem litter but seeing as the two girls were snapped up immediately she unfortunately did not get one and so here is the first red Devongem red girlie....

Introducing Dash of Spice at Devongem we decided she had to be a Devongem :)

She is the sweetest pup and has the most amazing stride length. I am really pleased Sian has her from a good friend of ours Vicky Rose and dad is another friend of ours dogs too so really nice to know the family :) They are certainly not lacking in anything, I will add some videos in soon and she is certainly one of the nicest reds I have seen in terms of deep colour - gorgeous :)

The future is bright.....

Today was another fantastic day, great people, great dogs and methodology, strategies, visulaisation, analysis and decision making. The puppies had yet more cuddles and they are growing by the minute.

I also recieved two emails today asking for a Reef puppy - interestingly both emails were apologising about their inabilities as handlers and yet both sounded on paper like great homes. At the Devongem kennel I feel really lucky that some of the UKs VERY top handlers have chosen to have puppies from us -

All are working successfully in champ classes, two of the above have had silver FCI medals, competed at the European Opens there are individuals on the list who have won crufts, 4 of the above own AGILITY CHAMPIONS and have won individuals have won Olympia. I also have a pup from our own lines and have similar levels of success at qualifying for FCI world champs and Olympia on 3 occasions, however does that make me a worthy home?

I cannot say that I am not EXTREMELY proud to have been chosen to breed puppies for such amazing people, and we have only had 3 litters, however I do also have to say that is not a priority when homing a puppy. A good home comes first and although a lot of my puppies have gone to what I consider the TOP of the UK agility circuit I am just as happy to home a pup to a loving, caring and happy agility family. Food for thought -

So he is a little monkey, learning how to go up and down the stairs, making his escape route out of the box and pushing the sheep strategically into the corner so he could climb out :) He also gets in anything and sleeps, I just have not managed to catch him on camera! His pet name is Rhyme and we are still waiting to see what his KC name will come back as. All of the pups have now been registered.

Feel free to pop in for a cuddle - we love having you all. The puppies are already excited about this weekends course analysis at Bowerlands as it means all day cuddle passes for the customers :)

A very LONG day....

Went for a whole days training 121 and it was just fab, decided to take Popi and pups too as always good for them to take a road trip and the new van (have I said how much I LOVE it?) for a journey too!

Pups were fantastic, took everything in their lil strides and played very happily once we arrived. Slept all the way and not a peep....I hope they behave like this when they go to their new homes. In the last litter Popi x Reef there was definately a more sensitive pup that we homed at 7 weeks that showed fairly early on whilst they were with us and I really tried hard to make sure we did everything possible to help them and allow them to adjust evenly, nothing major however as a responsible breeder you should be aware of this. This pup was sensitive to mood and to a degree noise, which is why I always choose to endorse litters as I think you need to be aware of the types you are breeding and how they will adjust in later life - however this litter really have no sensitive monkeys - they are full on and HARD WORK! They will not be for people who want an easy ride - madness! They tug like troopers, chase toys and pounce like mad things. It also shows you that you can never guarantee what you are going to get - this litter seem VERY popi x reef whereas the last litter had some more variables - interesting to watch and assess :)

These pups are fast, agile and WILD and they are only 3 weeks - I am worried!! I hope their new owners know what they are letting themselves in for. We have also had some fab visitors this week - my 11am workshop today, Karen Laker, Virginia Harry who is staying at Bowerlands and Dave Munnings. Exciting times :)

Puppies are just gorgeous - I really do enjoy having them. Really do enjoy having them around and love how content Popi is with them - she looks so happy. Karen Laker has already been to see them and fallen in love and some of the new prospective owners are also due to come down soon. Would really like them to have a Devongem D name i.e. Devongem Decadence or something similar but we shall see :) :) x x

Met Dish at Bowerlands yesterday, he is from the Meg x Reef litter and what a lovely sweet natured dog! He seemed to follow Reef around like a typical pup but Reef was far more interested in Jo's other pup althought thought Dish wasnt bad either! You can definately tell it is Autumn here in the pics :)

Popi is looking huge - lets hope we have puppies soon as she really does not want to wait until Tuesday day 63! We have some people who currently have devongems putting names down for future Devongems which I think is a real compliment :) Lets see who appears in the next few days :)

And Bowerlands - well what can I say, the sun is shining, the dogs are playing and I feel like the luckiest girl alive. I said this to a friend yesterday and she said you have made your life to a big degree and shape your own success by having dreams - I sort of agree but I cant help but feel lucky too. Live life, love life :)

Well done Dave - for those of you who don't know Dave he is Boss's owner and I am so pleased that he wanted a pup from us and has given Boss the best ever home. Well with the third litter due in less than three weeks here is a vid of Brooke at almost 13months playing on some grids. She has huge toy drive and just loves tugging! This is a repeat mating of PopixReef that we have coming up therefore I am pleased that we can almost see what we might get!

Linda is doing a fab job as are all of the puppy owners! Really cant wait to see who arrives in the next litter!

Am also looking forward to training lots of the youngsters on the up coming young dogs sequencing and also Youngsters for Sports days (for more info email carole@devondogs.co.uk)

Popi is expecting 6 pups and we do have homes lined up for these pups but are happy to have interest/enquiry emails in case anything falls through :)

Well we have had miss Popi scanned yesterday and she is in pup - really exciting. I am really going to enjoy this litter as we have all the others but particularly because it must be Popis last and we will have her speyed after this. We have mated her to Reef again as we are really pleased with the pups and decided we would repeat this mating.She will have another scan in two weeks and then pups are due 10-14th October. We have some really lovely homes lined up and are hopeful that it will be as nice an experience as it has been in the past. Especially now we will be moving to Bowerlands so the pups will have a real farm style upbringing :) See

The puppies are looking fab! The breeder of this litter is doing an amazing job - all pups are being crate trained, getting used to collar and leads and are having little trips in the car. They have been so well socialised already - new owners are going to have a much easier job :)

Also in the video is mum Clover and big sister Molly, it's lovely to see how well they all interact. Reef has met the pups a couple of times and has been so sweet with them. Clover must have been doing a celebrity diet and fitness plan - you wouldn't know she gave birth just over 6 weeks ago, she looks brilliant.

All of these pups are going to lovely agility homes.......so I get to see them all at training - should be fun!!!!

I don't know quite how to deal with this week, it has just been too good to be true really. Lots of people believe in fate but I really do think that although luck plays a little part in our lives you really make your own luck and I feel priviledged and proud to be surrounded by my friends, family and my customers this week.

It all started on Friday - our new home is finally in the horizon, our house has exchanged and I really am over the moon. I feel so proud of my mum and dad for the emotional upheaval and year we have had however our amazing future is now within an arms reach - mum has been amazing - she really is just the most phenomenal person I could have in my life - I cant believ she is my mum :) :) Thankyou mum xxxxxxxx Newhall is still our main place of training and we will try to keep it this way as we like it there however our new home and hopefully holiday rentals will be based at the new house!! Watch this space!!

The dogs are going to love it, acres of land to run in, an outdoor and indoor training area and the moors just a stone throw away! They really are very lucky. Then again so are we!

I then went to a fab show at the weekend, shared company with some fantastic people and I certainly think the saying success breeds success was a good one for the weekend - Matt and I came away with 9 trophies (I counted our trophies since April of this year and there are 58 - yes 58!!!) Reef won his first Grade 6 agility beating his lady Popi :) :) I was amazed! Both Lesley Olden, Anthony Clarke and the impressive Mathew Rouse were all in the placings so we were very happy to lead that class and gain our first G6-7 WIN at our first G6 show. Clever Reef!I also had the pleasure of watching some fab people run - Lesley Olden won both of her other classes, Sue Howlett had a grade 3 win taking her to grade 4 and Lolly won her grade 3 jumping :) These have to be some of the best bits of training when you see it all come together - I really did enjoy the weekend. I also am in love with our new caravan, it is just so posh - wow could the week get any better?

Then on Monday Matt left to film some things with Dave Munnings, Dave is making a dvd and it is going to be exciting seeing his super pup on it Devongem Mister Boss Man! Dave and Matt seemed to make an excellent team on set and I cant wait to see the edit!Helene L then turns up at training with a bottle of Pimms - she is just the sweetest and dedicated customer - how kind - she brought it to thank us for all our hard work - I cant imagine the week can improve....

On Wednesday I went to see the gorgeous Paolo Nutini - special thanx to Alexis for taking my steeplechase with such enthusiasm, Deb for leading the obedience-you have amazing knowledge Deb, Fern and Melissa for supporting throughout the day and Sian for looking after the dogs in the evening - I really appreciated it - what a lovely way of spending an evening with friends - Paolo is very R Pat - I LOVE him :)

And on Thursday I think Garys comment made my day,
'Thankyou, that was.....very philosophical, and thought provoking, yes I mean it!' AMAZING !!

Plus we had far too many cakes for all the wins at the weekend - the Thorntons Chocolates are on a repeat order please - YUM!

And today, Matt arrives home :) I have trained from 7am - 2.30pm Shauna Lyons and Sue Quinney both fab trainers and fab people to instruct with G7 dogs - had time for puppy cuddles (thankyou for bringing the pups to Newhall Becky) and have had a great session with Tik, Coast and Reef and Tik has prooved to me today she is ready for competition - so roll on fab weeks!

Well........Reef has become a proud dad again!

Several weeks ago he met a lovely lady called Clover and now they have 4 gorgeous puppies.

There are 2 black & white girls, 1 very dark girl and 1 dark tri boy.

All these puppies already have lovely homes waiting for them :)

So we have had a couple of weeks at home and then decided to go to the GT UKA show and Vyne KC show on the Monday, no Reef as he pulled a toe but Coco (WCS) Jess (x breed medium) Bailey Champ UKA and G6 KC, and the pups TIKI (UKA 420mm as of her measure a few weeks ago) and Riot approx 470mm but still waiting for official measure as no one measuring on the Sunday.

Pups are all doing GRAND :) Above is Devongem zingredible aka Zing - he

is just sooooo handsome :) Pups are all doing foundation and coming on great. Reef has also just sired his second litter to Meg - saw the pups this am and my there is a special boy in there.....im not telling which one :) I want him :) He has also just gone to another stunning bitch, a bit bigger than Meg and very pushy but sweet with it so we should have more pups in 5 weeks time :) :) I have decided not to have one as I am enjoying my Raq/Joker puppy - whose name changes each week - SNAP, Wist, Tad? Ideas? And I think I may have a litter at the end of the year from pops so would be silly to keep one from someone else instead of my golden girl :) plus a few good friends really would like another Devongem so cant resisit having one last litter :)

TV time for us too next week - Kirsty and Phil from tv are going to try and find us a house - we are really getting quiter despondent so cant wait to see if they come up with something :) We are being put up in a hotel for the week - how exciting and they want to film the dogs too - agggghhhhh!!

Hopefully we are off to a show at the weekend but it depends as Matt is manically busy with http://www.tug-e-nuff.co.uk/ This busioness really has gone from strength to strength and it is lovely to be able to sell such fab products, take a look if you havent already and do pass on to your friends :) They can make almost anything :) If its not on the site just ask!

I Love getting to see the pups so often, Cove comes to work with Fern and I get to see Zing lots and then Chilli a couple of nights a week at classes and Brooke at foundation - so lucky :) They are all gorgeous looking dogs - but I am biased :)

We did a training day last weekend and this weekend, so pleased with both Tiki and Riot - they are both really starting to look together - both have a beautiful jump action, willing to decelerate, turn and drive out and also have a kind way with them :) Also great for SNAP, Spice and Free, they all worked with Sian in the groups and focus was fab, thanx Sian ps see photo of snap - he is still tired :) :) Lovely to do training days with such positive and motivated people, thankyou to Sue and Jan for organising both weekends.

We also saw Devo with Mark and Karen and my is he like his dad, very coaty, heavier than our two in build and absolutely gorgeous to look at, lovely to see that all of our pups have such FAB homes :) One thing I find really funny is how we all make our dogs look like our others - Marks Devo is not dissimilar to Kodi, Riot and Tiki are like Popi and Greg Derretts rehab is like detox - very odd!

Spent a week with Dave last week as my van was conveniently late being fixed. Lovely to spend time with such a good friend and Boss too :)

matt was lovely and took all of my classes, I had such a nice week - will post more when I get a sec.

Have also been fostering Jack aka Snap - lovely chap and quickly falling in love with him except for his naughty barking, really fun puppy - will post more asap :)

Had foundation with pups last week - my how time flies....and they all had a puppy play at the end :)

Training is going well but the house has fallen through - lots say it is meant to be, I just think grrrrrr!!

Reef is going to Megs on Thurs so lets hope for some lovely puppies :) I want a classically marked Brooke or Zing type but if not then Pops will have another litter in a few months time :)

Well the van was minus 12 this morning, thats just crazy.....

Training hasnt been too disrupted, we are lucky to have fairly accessible venues but this weather really musnt last long, Im kinda sat here with not a lot to do and so i end up doing lots of training, Tiki and Reef are pleased (and tired) and wish freebie was up but she is lapping the life of luxury in Plymouth. She is looking so good there, no recall issues or people dog hang ups - just a lovely dog. She will make a great breed bitch and also really hope to work her.

Looked at lots of the pups in the last week, four from the most recent litter and all of the first litter either up close or on vid and they really are just lovely :)

Seen some great houses too even in the snow, thankyou so much to all of my customers for sending them over - you have just been wow, keep sending them!

I have left my cameras in Plymouth so will have to add some photos later....or maybe some of the pup owners fancy adding some? Feel free guys xxxxxxx

Back from olympia, Wales and Pups

So back to the world of the computer.....and the STATIC CARAVAN!!Please someone find me a house...look at the newsletter for what we are looking for :) We have had a great week, Olympia was a shame but het my brain cant work well all the time can it :) Reef was a joy just a little faster than I expected and my head didnt work fast enough :) he is only grade 4 so if we plan well enough we may get another go :) Fingers crossed - he is an awesome dog to work. I just love him :) It was great to see Linda and Missie from Devon Dogs in the final - im sure she will be there in g6 next year :)

We had a lovely snowy Christmas - we went to a log cabin and spent it in the snow - knee deep - we couldnt leave the site all week, what a shame :) :) It had dog walks and we had everything we needed so a well earned rest for us and the dogs :) We will definately do

this again (thats if matts mum and my mum will help - they looked after Riot/Bailey/Popi/Freebie as the travel ldges/Ibis and Hotels in between will only take two dogs. Freebie has been having such a great time in Plymouth (joggers, skateboarders, bull mastiffs and staffies are all part of the janner fun ;) She is staying there for a little longer as we have so much to do here at the mo but is coming back mid January - great social time as she gets to do so many non farmy things there - very different to living at an equestrian centre/ farm :) Mum says she can stay for as long as we like but I really miss this little dog, she has such a big heart and is one of the loveliest dogs I have had, very uncomplicated and with a great attitude. I cant wait to have her back :) freebie xx

The pups are looking great, really WOW exactly the mating I wanted to produce nice agility pups - I love the videos their owners are posting and it is great to see them develop. We are waiting to see what they are like to see if we want to keep a pup from this repeat mating - it will be Popis last litter and we have lots of great potential homes lined up :) Reef may also go to Meg popis sister so we will look at these pups too and there is another bitch who has asked to use Reef, depending on what happens with Meg we may use him on her, she is a wow dog I just dont want to use him when i cant keep a pup as I think this line is special and should not get into the wrong hands, he really should work, he is not happy without a job. Im not saying he doesnt settle, he does, he just needs to be active at some point in the day and some people really dont seem to understand this :) A friend has recently had a litter from a completely different line of worky WSDS and has only homed one pup and they are 8 weeks old, this is not a situation we want to find ourselves in just because its nice to be fussy when they are as worky as this. Lets hope we can continue to be. If you are interested in a pup our pups go to great homes number one so although we have a list the home is most important and I am happy to put a great home above a number on the list...a friend in France will be having a pup this time and that is so much more important to me than any top agility home. She adores her dogs, understands them and has a really admirable relationship with them. I really miss her - xx Caroline :)

Im really excited, Im seeing Brooke and Chilli tomorrow as well as a new house.....will add some pics tomo :)

Had lots of fun - no snow but lots of sunshine! Brooke almost got dragged into the waves so no photographs of the beginning of the walk. Just lots of play.
